Frequently asked questions

Is Glutide medical advice?
Glutide is for tracking and education. It is not a medical device, gives no medical advice and never suggests a dose.
What Glutide does

Glutide helps people taking a GLP-1 medication eat enough protein on a small appetite. You log meals by photo, by describing them, or by searching foods, and Glutide shows how much protein, fiber and water you have had against your daily targets.

Every nutrition number comes from USDA FoodData Central. When you log a photo, an AI model names the foods and estimates their weight, and each food is then matched to a USDA entry. You can check and change every amount before saving.

Glutide also records which medication you take (by brand, such as Zepbound® or Ozempic®, or compounded), how much, where and exactly when, along with side effects and weight. From that it shows which day after your dose side effects tend to hit, what they are and how bad, and whether stomach symptoms tend to follow higher-fat days.

What Glutide does not do. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses, or tell you when to take your medication. It is not a replacement for your care team, and it does not diagnose anything. Photo estimates are estimates; weighing food is always more accurate.

Logging your first meal
  1. On the Today tab, tap Log a meal.
  2. Choose how to log it: Take a photo, Choose a photo, Describe it (for example “3 oz salmon and half a cup of rice”), or Search foods.
  3. Photos and descriptions are analyzed in a few seconds. You then see each food, its matched USDA entry, and an estimated weight in grams.
  4. Adjust anything that looks wrong. Use the minus and plus buttons, type an exact weight, or tap ½ of that if you only ate part. Tap the USDA description under the food name to choose a different food.
  5. If Glutide asks whether the food was cooked in oil or butter, answer it. Hidden cooking fat is the biggest source of error in photo logging.
  6. Tap Save. The meal’s protein is added to your ring on the Today tab.

Your daily protein target was suggested during setup. Change it at any time in Settings, ideally to the number your care team recommends.

Privacy and your data

What stays on your phone. Your meals, doses, injection sites, side effects, weights, water and settings are stored only on this device. Glutide has no account and no sign-in, and it does not upload your log anywhere.

What leaves your phone. When you choose to analyze a photo or a written description, that one photo or description is sent to Glutide’s server and analyzed there by an AI model. It is used only to answer that request. It is not stored after the answer is returned, not used to train models, and not linked to your name.

What the server keeps. Each request carries a random install identifier, made on your phone and not tied to you. Against it the server keeps how many free analyses you have used and, if you subscribe, when your subscription ends. Daily request counts are kept for two days, and your IP address is never stored.

Searching foods never leaves your phone; the USDA database is built into the app.

No ads, no tracking. Glutide contains no advertising and no tracking or analytics SDKs.

To remove your log, delete the app. Because your log exists only on this device, deleting the app deletes it. The install identifier is kept in your phone’s keychain so free analyses are not reset by reinstalling; to have the server’s record of it deleted, contact us.

Contact us

The quickest way to reach a person is Send feedback in Settings or at the bottom of Help. Your message arrives with the app version and your iOS version attached, so you do not need to describe your setup, and a person reads every one.

You can also email [email protected]. Please include what you were doing and what you expected to happen.

If you have a medical question, such as about side effects or your dose, please contact your care team or pharmacist. Glutide cannot give medical advice.

When something goes wrong

The amounts look wrong.
A photo cannot show weight directly, so amounts are estimates. Tap the minus or plus buttons, type the weight, or use ½ of that. Photos taken from above, with the whole plate in view, give the best estimates. For packaged foods, search for the food and use the weight on the label.
It picked the wrong food.
Tap the USDA description under the food name and search for the right one.
"No food was found."
For a photo, make sure the food fills most of the frame and is well lit, then try again. For a description, name the foods and amounts, for example “2 eggs and a slice of toast”. An analysis that finds no food does not use up a free analysis.
"That description is too long."
Descriptions can be up to 500 characters. Log a large meal in two parts.
"You appear to be offline."
Analysis needs an internet connection. Searching foods works offline.
"Today's fair-use limit."
Each device can analyze a generous number of meals per day, with or without Glutide Pro. The limit resets the next day. Searching foods is never limited.
"Too many meals have been analyzed from this network."
A shared network, such as office, hotel or public Wi-Fi, can reach its own daily limit when many people use Glutide on it. Try again later, or switch to another connection such as mobile data. Glutide Pro subscribers are not affected by this limit.
What Glutide cannot do.
It cannot see oil, butter or sauce that is mixed in, which is why it asks. It cannot tell the brand of a food from a photo, so branded foods are matched to a generic equivalent.

Glutide Pro

Free forever:
logging doses, injection sites, side effects, weight and water; searching and logging foods from the USDA database; the Progress charts and side-effect insights.
Free to try:
analyzing meals from a photo or a description. Every device includes 10 free analyses, and each free analysis is exactly as accurate as a paid one. An analysis that fails or finds no food does not count. The free analyses belong to the device, not to the app, so deleting and reinstalling Glutide does not give you another 10.
Glutide Pro
makes analysis unlimited for everyday use. It is a subscription, billed weekly, monthly or yearly, because every analysis runs on a server that costs money each time it is used. If you have never subscribed before, the yearly and weekly plans may start with a free trial; the paywall shows it only when your Apple Account qualifies.
Free trial reminders.
During a free trial, the Today tab shows the date the trial ends and what it will renew at, with a Manage Subscription button. If you allow notifications for dose reminders, Glutide also reminds you the day before the trial ends. When you are down to your last one or two free analyses, the counter on Today is highlighted.
Fair use.
To keep the service running for everyone, there is a generous daily limit on analyses for each device, and it applies to Glutide Pro too. Searching foods is never limited.
Restoring.
If you reinstall or change devices, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.
Cancelling.
Manage or cancel your subscription in the Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least a day before renewal to avoid the next charge.
